Mini Makers - Casual Class

A$30.00

This term in Mini Makers, we’ll be exploring creativity through cardboard, paint and lots of hands-on making! Each week, children will be invited to create from a range of pre-cut cardboard shapes, experimenting with colour, texture and materials in a fun and open-ended way.

Classes begin with a short demonstration or creative prompt, followed by plenty of time for children to explore, experiment and create at their own pace. The weekly schedule is below:

Week 1 – Shapes & Picture Building
Turn simple cardboard shapes into fun, colourful pictures!

Week 2 – Wings:
Layer crepe paper and glue to create magical, wearable butterfly and dragon wings.

Week 3 – Funny Faces:
Explore expressions and textures while decorating silly, imaginative faces.

Week 4 – Cardboard Creatures:
Build and paint fantastical creatures, adding bubble wrap textures for extra fun.

Week 5 – Crowns & Costumes:
Make crowns and costumes, using fabric and resist techniques

Week 6 – Under the Sea:
Create underwater worlds adding sparkling glue-and-salt watercolour magic and sand for a sensory twist.

Week 7 – Nature:
Bees & Honeycomb: Print honeycomb patterns with bubble wrap and add buzzing bees to your scene.

Week 8 – Build Anything:
Open-ended cardboard creations, invent, experiment and make it your own!

This is a relaxed, supportive environment where children are encouraged to make their own choices and bring their ideas to life. There is no pressure to make a “perfect” artwork. The focus is on play, discovery and enjoying the process.

Only requirement is a love of creating and getting a little bit messy! 🎨
